A routine is any number of actions you can group together. This group can be referred to from anywhere you can use action-rules. This can come in handy if you have the same actions for every extension. Routines can help you save a lot of time configuring dial plans.

Routines

There are three built-in routines:

  • All calls – allows to add action rules for all incoming and outgoing calls except for special PBX features.
  • All internal calls – allows to add action rules for all calls from external trunks.
  • All external calls – allows to add action rules for all calls coming from internal phones and trunks, except for special PBX features.

These routines are always executed as soon as you add one or more rules. They cannot be deleted.

Add new routine

You can add a new routine in Dial Plan/Routines/Add. Now you can add one or more rules.

The example below shows the inbound number linking to the routine above. You see only one line but actually 3 actions will be executed consecutively.

TIP: See rule editor type list for a complete list of rules and possible conditions.
